FAQs
Frequently Asked Questions
How we verify projects, why some opening dates are estimates, and what to do when you spot something new.
Question 01 of 04
Where do you get your data?
We aggregate data from three primary sources:
- State Filings: We monitor the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR) for architectural registration and construction permits.
- City Records: We review public Planning & Zoning meeting minutes, City Council agendas, and commercial building permits filed with the City of Celina.
- Visual Verification: We drive the sites every two weeks to confirm construction progress.
We do not publish rumors, "handshake deals," or unverified social media chatter.
Question 02 of 04
How often is the map and project list updated?
The Celina Watch database is a living document. We monitor new filings daily and update the site every week, so you always have the most current information on local groundbreakings and openings.
Question 03 of 04
Is Celina Watch an official city website?
No. We are an independent community resource dedicated to transparent growth tracking. Being independent lets us move faster with updates and provide one place for commercial data that is often spread across several city and state departments.
Question 04 of 04
Why are some opening dates listed as estimates?
In Texas construction, timelines can shift due to weather, supply chains, or final city inspections. We list an exact date once it is confirmed by the business or an official announcement. Otherwise we show an estimated quarter (for example, Q1 2027) based on current construction progress, labeled "Est. Opening."
