Frequently Asked Questions

Where Do You Get Your Development Data?

We rely on primary data sources to ensure accuracy, including TDLR (Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation) filings, City of Celina permit records, and direct developer site plans. By tracking these “source of truth” documents, we can provide updates often weeks before a “Coming Soon” sign even appears on-site.

How Often is the Interactive Map and Project List Updated?

The Celina Watch database is a living document. We monitor new filings daily and perform a comprehensive site-wide update every week. This ensures that our subscribers regularly have the most current information on local groundbreakings and openings.

Is Celina Watch an Official City Website?

No. We are an independent community resource dedicated to transparent growth tracking. Being independent allows us to move faster with updates and provide a centralized “one-stop shop” for commercial data that is often spread across multiple different city and state departments.

Why are Some Opening Dates Listed as "Projected" or "TBD"?

In the world of Texas construction, timelines can shift due to weather, supply chains, or final city inspections. We only list a “Verified” date once it is confirmed by the business or a state filing; otherwise, we provide an estimated quarter (e.g., Q1 2026) based on current construction progress.

Why Don't I See [Major Brand Name] on the Map Yet?

We only add projects to the map once there is a verifiable permit, TDLR filing, or official site plan on record. While rumors circulate quickly regarding major retailers like H-E-B or Costco, our mission is to provide “confirmed only” data so you can plan your commute and shopping around facts, not speculation.
