How we track, verify, and report on Celina’s growth.
Celina is growing fast, and timelines can change quickly. This FAQ explains how Celina Watch verifies projects, why some opening dates are listed as projected or TBD, and what to do if you have an update we should review.
We aggregate data from three primary sources:
State Filings: We monitor the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR) for architectural registration and construction permits.
City Records: We review public Planning & Zoning meeting minutes, City Council agendas, and commercial building permits filed with the City of Celina.
Visual Verification: We drive the sites bi-weekly to confirm vertical construction.
Note: We do not publish rumors, “handshake deals,” or unverified social media chatter.
The Celina Watch database is a living document. We monitor new filings daily and perform a comprehensive site-wide update every week. This ensures that our subscribers regularly have the most current information on local groundbreakings and openings.
No. We are an independent community resource dedicated to transparent growth tracking. Being independent allows us to move faster with updates and provide a centralized “one-stop shop” for commercial data that is often spread across multiple different city and state departments.
In the world of Texas construction, timelines can shift due to weather, supply chains, or final city inspections. We only list a “Verified” date once it is confirmed by the business or a state filing; otherwise, we provide an estimated quarter (e.g., Q1 2026) based on current construction progress.
We use status labels to show how “real” a project is and where it stands in the development process.
If a project isn’t listed, it likely means:

Commercial construction is volatile. Dates listed on this site are often estimates based on the most recent data available (such as the “Projected Completion Date” filed with the state).
Common delays include weather, material shortages, permitting hold-ups, and inspection failures. When we see a date slip, we update the Tracker immediately.
No. Our focus is exclusively on Commercial, Retail, Dining, and Mixed-Use developments. We do not track new home communities, HOA amenities, or road expansion projects (unless they directly impact a commercial site).
