Welcome to Issue #010 of The Blueprint.
Summer is officially here, and so is the next wave of construction. We’re seeing significant movement at four of the main districts in Celina: Preston Crossroads (SEC Preston & Frontier), Crossing at Moore Farm (NEC Preston & Ownsby), Village at Ownsby Farms (SWC Preston & Ownsby), and the newly minted Homeplace Crossing at Ownsby Farms (NWC Preston & Ownsby).
While this is all primarily site grading and foundation work right now, that means we can expect an influx of vertical development in the coming months.
We’ll also be welcoming a handful of new businesses in the next few weeks, including Bojangles, We Rock the Spectrum, TBT Gym, and others.
We are also closing in on almost 2,000 subscribers, which is worth a moment. When we started this project, we weren’t sure if or how many people would care. Turns out, a lot of you do. Thank you for your continued support and for reading, sharing, and sending in tips. This one’s for you.

Latest Updates on the Big Brands Coming to Celina
Current Status: Final Site Work & Interior Buildout
Target Opening: August 2026
What's Changed: The stone monument sign at Homeplace Crossing at Ownsby Farms is up and reading “Coming Soon,” which is the clearest signal yet that an opening announcement is approaching. The building itself is complete, with the sign lit, landscaping planted, and the parking lot is poured. We also got a first look inside through the front entry doors this week; scissor lifts are staged and interior work is active throughout the shell.

Current Status: Interior Buildout & Final Prep
Target Opening: August 2026
What's Changed: The parking lot is paved and light poles are installed, a step forward from last issue. Interior crews continue working through the open entry bays, with green equipment staged inside. No signage and no cart corrals yet. The building is done. Everything that is left is happening on the inside.
Next Milestone: Interior completion, stocking, and grand opening announcement.

Current Status: Final Exterior Work & Interior Buildout
Target Opening: Q3 2026
What's Changed: The scaffolding is down. The full facade is visible for the first time, including the entrance canopy with its dark wood and brick accent treatment. A large sign panel is installed and waiting for Academy’s signage. The parking lot is poured and young trees are in the ground. When that sign goes up, this one will be close.
Next Milestone: Signage installation and grand opening announcement.

Current Status: Underground Utilities & Foundation Prep
Target Opening: Q2 2027
What's Changed: Meaningful progress since last issue. The pad is compacted and graded, and underground utilities are now visible on site, including water supply lines being roughed in. A roller compactor was actively working this week. This is the milestone we were watching for after last issue’s mass grading activity, and it’s arrived on schedule.

Target Opening: June 23rd, 2026

Bojangles held their Chamber ribbon cutting yesterday, but is officially opening to the public on Tuesday, June 23rd. Beginning at 5:00AM, the first 100 guests will receive a $100 gift card. You can also enter to win Free Breakfast for a Year. 10 winners will be selected.

We Rock the Spectrum is officially opening their doors on Saturday, June 27th. They will be running an Open Play promotion for $15.99/child from 10:00AM-6:00PM so you can explore everything their location has to offer. Drinks and snacks will also be provided.

TBT Gym has a “Coming Soon” banner across their entrance and all signs point to an imminent opening. They are waiting on their final inspection to be scheduled. But once they pass, an official opening date will be confirmed.

Celina’s first Chipotle is ready. The building is complete, signage is up, landscaping is finished, and the interior has been lit for weeks. Chipotle’s PR team confirmed a July opening is on track. No exact date yet, but this one is coming fast and we’ll have the announcement as soon as it’s official.

Haraz Coffee has “Hiring Now” and “Arriving Soon” signage across their storefront windows, and their Instagram has been teasing a soft opening in June. But based on what we’re seeing on the ground, we think July is the more realistic target. We’ll have more information about this one soon.

Fourteen Eighteen Coffee has their permanent signage up and the exterior is essentially done. Inside, crews are in the final stretch of finish work with the bar area taking shape. Their website lists “Summer 2026” and July is the working estimate, though no official date has been announced. We’ll update as soon as one is confirmed.
Businesses That Opened in the Last 30 Days
Opened: June 2nd, 2026

Celina’s first Panda Express has been open for over two weeks and is settling in fast. Their soft opening on May 29 held to schedule, followed by the official grand opening on June 2. If you haven’t stopped in yet, they’re open at Preston & Ownsby.

Willow Nail Lounge celebrated their grand opening on May 23 and has been welcoming clients at Village at Ownsby Farms ever since. Their permanent signage is up and the space looks sharp.

D-BAT Celina is open and operating at Celina Business Park. The baseball and softball training facility offers hitting and pitching instruction for all skill levels, with summer camps already underway.
Opened: May 19th, 2026

PNC Bank has been open at Village at Ownsby Farms since May 19 and is now fully operational. The branch rounds out the financial services options on the Preston corridor.
Early Intel & Site Updates
What We Know: Brunch Factory, from the owners of Celina Star Cafe, is coming to the end cap at Village at Ownsby Farms Shops D, and it is shaping up to be one of the more distinctive openings Celina has seen. The owner tells us the concept will feature a full bar alongside a full, unique brunch menu, with both indoor and outdoor seating as part of the build.
The foundation slab was poured this week and we can expect vertical construction to follow shortly after once it has cured. The owner is expecting the keys in October/November, meaning we’re likely looking at a Q1 opening in 2027 following the interior buildout.

What to Watch: Vertical construction at Village at Ownsby Farms Shops D. When the steel goes up, this one will start to take shape quickly.
What We Know: A document obtained by Celina Watch shows the latest tenant plan for the Crossing at Moore Farm. The site plan shows EoS Fitness as the anchor, with a supporting lineup that includes:
On the ground, the site remains in early pad preparation with grading and earthwork active. No foundation pours have occurred yet.
As a reminder, tenant lineups on site plans are fluid and subject to change. This is the most current information available, and it represents a meaningful look at what’s coming to this corner of Celina.
What to Watch: ATI Physical Therapy and Prime IV Hydration have already filed their registered state construction permits. These are as close to a lock as we’ll get until construction starts, but we’ll keep an eye out for new permits being filed. When the first concrete goes in the ground at this development, the tenant picture will start to firm up quickly.
What We Know: Construction is officially underway for Sprouts Farmers Market at 4540 S. Preston Rd. A job sign from Central Builders Inc., the general contractor on the project, is now on site and confirms the address. The pad is graded and active, with utilities to be roughed in soon. Sprouts has been on the development plan for Preston Crossroads for some time, and seeing the GC on the ground moves this from announced to actively under construction.
There is no confirmed opening timeline yet.
What to Watch: The rest of Preston Crossroads is also in motion. Foundation work is underway on at least one additional pad at the development, with rebar laid and forms set for what appears to be a sizable footprint. Leasing materials for Preston Crossroads have listed Discount Tire, Arby’s, and Taco Bueno as tenants alongside Sprouts, though tenant lineups on site plans are fluid and subject to change. We’ll be watching for permit activity and signage to confirm who’s going in where.

As much as I love visiting these sites and interacting with local owners, I haven’t quite figured out how to be in two places at once. Between a full-time job and being a dad to two kids, time is a luxury!
